Description
What do lemon trees and older global workers have in common? How can senior citizens be involved in the Great Commission? Listen as Raymond and Kathryn share about their move to Europe to join a younger team to reach out to refugees in their city. They share some of the joys and challenges of the move there, but also how strategic it is for older people to work alongside those who are younger. Choosing ministry over a recliner, they have seen God answer prayer to use their white hair to not only bless their teammates but also reach out to a needy community.
Guest Bio
At age 66 and 67, Raymond and Kathryn had a new house next to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln to facilitate reaching international students, 44 years of marriage, 17 years' experience in overseas ministry, three adult children born in three languages, seven grandchildren, Italian citizenship and some ability in the Arabic language. The flood of refugees into Europe prompted them to ask if the Lord could still use them cross-culturally. They have just passed the six-month mark in Rome and are believing God for a miracle to learn to conjugate Italian past and future tense verbs. Meanwhile, many divine encounters with Arabic-speaking migrants affirm that the Lord can use white hairs.
